Oahe Electric Now Accepting Applications for 2027 Scholarships
Investing in education is one of the ways Oahe Electric supports our members, their families, and the future of the communities we serve. Applications are now open for Oahe Electric's 2027 scholarship programs, with opportunities available for students pursuing both traditional and technical education, as well as careers in the electric utility industry.
General Scholarships
A total of six scholarships will be awarded, including two $2,000 scholarships funded in partnership with Basin Electric Power Cooperative, and four $1,000 scholarships provided by Oahe Electric.
To be eligible, applicants must be either Oahe Electric members or dependents of Oahe Electric members. Applicants must also be enrolled, or planning to enroll, full-time at an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school.
Scholarship recipients are selected based on several factors, including a written essay, SAT/ACT scores, cumulative GPA, work experience, school and community involvement, a personal statement outlining career goals, and a third-party letter of recommendation.
Lineman Scholarship
Oahe Electric is also accepting applications for its $1,000 Lineman Scholarship, which supports students preparing for careers in the electric utility industry.
The scholarship is available to a full-time student enrolled, or planning to enroll, in a power line construction and maintenance program. Applicants must be Oahe Electric members of dependents of Oahe Electric members.
Through this scholarship, Oahe Electric is proud to encourage the next generation of skilled lineworkers and help support students developing the skills needed to serve rural communities for years to come.

Applications for both scholarship programs must be submitted or post-marked by February 12, 2027.
