Oahe Electric has implemented a program that will benefit our local community called Operation Round Up.
The concept of Operation Round Up is rather simple. Each month when electric bills of participating members are prepared, statements are rounded up to the nearest whole dollar. The difference between the billing and the actual cost of consumed electricity for the month is placed into a fund.
For example, if your electric bill was $100.35, you would pay $101.00 with $0.65 going to Operation Round Up. The maximum any member can contribute in a year is $11.88 ($0.99 times 12 months). If you do not wish to participate in Operation Round Up, you can fill out an Operation Round Up Opt Out Form and easily be removed from the program!
This money is then disbursed for charitable and educational purposes. Your community, your school and your non profit organizations may be eligible to receive these funds! That's one of the great things about it; the money stays local! Together we can make a difference!
If you decide that you do not wish to participate in this program that will benefit your community, please contact the office via email (firstname.lastname@example.org), phone (605.962.6243) or regular mail (PO Box 216, Blunt SD 57522) and inform them that you would like to opt-out of the program.

Also, you can click on the links below and download either application. All applications are due by April 30, 2022. The board of trustees will meet after this date, and decide how to disburse the funds.

If an individual is applying for funds, they must live in the service territory of Oahe Electric, which includes Hughes and Sully counties. All applications must include specific dollar amounts and clearly state specific needs. Applicants can be approved for a maximum of $2,500, and can only receive one grant within any 24 month period.
If an organization is applying for funds, they must conduct business in our service territory. All other guidelines are the same as an individuals applications, except that the maximum potential funding is $5,000.
When grants are made, the grantee may be asked to share that they received funds from the Operation Round Up program.
